As we learn and dance Brazilian zouk, we start with the basic steps and techniques of the dance, which are our foundation. We learn to dance these alone and to music before connecting with a partner. When we do connect, we should maintain that foundation but allow ourself to adapt to and be influenced by our partners' movement. This is, after all, a partner dance and a social dance with lead and  follow roles. The last layer is to add your own self-expression. A dance, whether one song or one hour, is a lot more fun and interesting if both partners are truly dancing and expressing themselves rather than just leading or following.

In this workshop we will explore this evolution of dance concepts and techniques in the context of Brazilian zouk to see how we can create even more interesting dances with your partners.
